Domesticated Bliss

Ok, I've never exactly been what you'd call a "domestic goddess" by any stretch of the imagination. And yet recently I've planted many flowers & plants (including a large lilac bush...my favourite), put in a vegetable garden in my backyard (tomatoes, pumpkins, peppers, basil, onions, carrots, grapes, raspberries, etc.) and now today I made strawberry freezer jam for the first time ever!
Ok, I know this is dull and boring compared with my once-upon-a-time life I used to live when the most important fruit in my diet was the cherries in my Cosmopolitan, but I find myself somewhat proud of this little domestic accomplishment.

there's nothing like eating the fruits you put up months ago and knowing exactly what went into it and the pride of the accomplishment lasts forever!

I am definitely jealous...I SO WISH I had the ability to plant, reap, and put up my own food...

I think this is so totally blog-worthy!! Congrats!!
